Hermann Oak® Leather Co. found it’s beginning when Lewis Charles Hermann started tanning leather in St. Louis, Missouri in 1881 to serve the local harness trade. Three more generations of Hermanns have followed Lewis’s footsteps to bring the finest vegetable leathers to market. The Hermann Oak® tanning process has not changed much throughout the years. They still use the finest natural tree barking their tanning liquors for richness and texture. The leather is soaked in ground-vats until its firm, strong and tight fibered. Hermann Oak’s technicians hand-work each sir for a smooth, consistent, even colored piece of leather. You’ll appreciate the quality that comes from over 100 years of experience.
