Stitching Method - Hand-stitching vs Machine-stitching

Hand-stitching - The traditional method saddle makers use to make horse saddles, also known as saddle stitching. This method is known for its durability and elegance. Leather items are sewn stitch by stitch by hand. The stitch line of hand-stitched items is slightly raised resulting in a more dimensional look. Hand-stitching is a very time-consuming process, resulting in a higher cost.

Machine-stitching - Although machine-stitching is not as elegant as traditional hand-stitching. Every item from us is carefully stitched together using a machine. We use a much tighter stitch length compared to hand-stitching to create a neat and tightly-packed stitch line that's very difficult to recreate by hand. This method allows us to price products lower and provide more value. Yet, still being able to provide a durable product of top quality materials and craftsmanship.

About the leather:
Minerva Box Vegetable Tanned Leather comes from the Badalassi Carlo Tannery in Italy. They are well known for their premium vegetable tanned leathers and the beautiful colors are able to produce.

I love my new leather cover! It feels so good to the touch and fits my Midori MD A5 journal like a glove. Colin had to customize the order for the fit and he remained friendly and communicative throughout the process. Thank you, Colin! My journalling set-up now feels complete :)
